President Obama calls for the minimum wage to be set at $9 dollars an hour. What moron beside this president thinks you can raise a family on $9 an hour?

Where are the unions on this? $9 an hour? What a joke.

if that was your original intent, why would you not have deducted the taxes prior to your claim? in addition, it is rare that an employer would honor the no deduction request by any employee. now if you were an independent contractor then the employer would not deduct your required taxes. however, you would not be an employee and it would not matter whether you were part-time or full-time. bottom line is that although you earn more money, you do not neccessarily keep all of it as you implied. that was what you originally implied wasn't it or maybe in your pocket has another meaning. either way i am just messing with you. it is not all that important. enjoy your day.

Sorry but I thought you would understand that it was an estimate before taxes ! and since we are picking nits , technically I'm right , you dont have to have taxes taken out when paid ! And so you are wrong !

does all of it end up in your pocket like you first claimed? i mean all of it...if not then you neglected to reveal the truth of what will end up in your pocket. your math was not complete from employer to pocket. you were wrong!

Does 40x 1.15$ = 46.00 $ If so then there was NO false information !

with or without intent, you gave false information. one thing is true. employers would see a loss of the whole $46.00 but the employee would not see the "in the pocket benefit" of the whole $46.00. for any sticklers out there, yes the employer and employee through filing of annual income taxes may get a refund or tax credit to recoup some of the money but in most instances not the full amount.

No there was no intent to defraud or mis-lead ! The raise will be there , yes minus the usual taxes etc ! And theres nothing "fuzzy"about it ! The increase is 46.00$ yes or no ?Lets see 40x 1.15$ = 46.00$ even with new math !So what exactly are trying to say ?

is a tax increase a cut in wages? tell obama you did not appreciate his recent tax increase resulting in a cut in wages. your fuzzy math unfortunately leads to the term dumb-masses in the dissemination of false information.

Munster

Still its better than a cut in wages !

Also LTS I wasnt digging for exact numbers but giving a estimate ! and theres more to it , if your working a minimum wage job you probably dont get 40hrs a week because then you'd be full time !

munster, you may gross an additional $46.00 per 40 hour pay period, but that amount will not end up in your pocket as you put it. you neglected to consider the deductions that are applied to your gross income. while this is a minor point, it does indicate that the initial joy of any increase in salary is quickly soured by the actual "in-pocket" amount. it may be beneficial to either look at a friends paystub or actually cut a payroll check these days for this to become painfully true.

No , I dont have that kind of ego bewrite !All I'm saying is this is real money for people that really need it ! And i agree that a "living wage " would be great but the reality is there will always be those who are going to work these low paying jobs !And the reason your "libs" talk about doing this is your republicans wont ever do it !And yes 15.00$ an hour is better but wont ever happen !

Munster: maybe my point is getting lost. You say $7.85 is something to be grateful for. You sound like a minimum wage person should come over to your house and kiss your ring. Dem and libs brag about raising the min wage. You think going to $9 an hour should make me c r a p my pants. Miller and Harkin, Democrats, will introduce a bill that would raise the minimum wage by 39%. The math shows that is better than your $9. per hour . $15 Would even better than Harkin's proposal. When you get in the business of setting wages you better make that level something you can live on or stay the heck out of the business of setting wages.

good morning munster. your calculation is inaccurate based on your statement.

Maybe you dont get it bewrite ! Minimum wage in ohio is 7.85$ and if they raise that to 9.00$ thats a 1.15 an hour raise !Or 46.00$ more in your pocket if you work a full time minimum wage job !

A 39% raise in the minumum raise is better than your $7.85
