So true Absolem, when i was young we would walk right down the street with guns to get to a favorite hunting spot, if 14 yr old boys did that on the same street today, the swat team would meet them

NCN...i wasn't taking anything up with you or anyone else. when i attended high school, it was not all that uncommon for several to have shotguns hanging in their racks in the cab of many a truck. there weree no shootings or fear of shootings during that time. my point is that everyone should pause to examine what changed that created the environment where the need for armed law enforcement to be required where the teachers and pricipal were given the responsibility and authority to maintain discipline and control. the problem is many pronged without an easy solution considering the mentality of those that make the decisions. the "times are a changin'" but it don't mean i got like it!

moderation, good moring..accodrding to the CIA worldfact book, we rank 93rd in death rates based on population. in regards to death rates by gun as compared to the rest of the world.....well we naturally lead the pack. these two facts alone indicate the predominate tool based on availability but ignores the fact of the human mentality which controls the tool. i think most agree that firearms are needed in certain situations and most realize that the average citizen does not normally need an RPG or hand grenades and such. we need to change the human mind and encourage early indentification of those that may have a propensity to develop severe anti-social behavoir.

Why do we have 90(ave.) gun deaths/day in the good ole USA? How does this compare with other countries, coal?

it is a sad statement to think that law enforcement is required at a public school.

sure is and that's what the NRA and coalbrain are suggesting...take it up with them..

And just because someone at a shooting possessed a gun does not mean the entire CCW deal is a failure. There were 2 at Gabby Giffords shooting... They did NOT either one have a clear shot. Boy you idiot liberals would be crying foul if they too a bad shot and hurt someone else wouldn't you... CCW people are very conscientious and would very much regret hurting someone on accident... But if I had the misfortune of being in a crowd during a shooting, I would****sure pray someone, a hero with a gun would take that s. o. b out !!! Wouldn't you ??

Also guns helped the freed slaves fight off the democrats that wanted to re enslave them. That is why the NRA was formed in the first place. Look it up. Now here you democrats are wanting to take thos rights away because of some dang evil crooks.... Find some other way of dealing with the evil crooks. Guns and everyones rights are off limits period..

Here is THE deal with guns. Guns are THE weapon that freed the country from the British, conquered many territories (West), helped American warriors and patriots win many hard fought wars. They are the symbol of freedom in this country and have staved off many foreign attacks (gun behind every blade of grass comment). Anyone that wants to take over or destroy this country KNOWS that guns have to be removed first... They are ONE LEG of a 3 legged stool. It seems to oversimplify it but if only one leg could be removed, the entire stool would fall. This is a known fact. You liberals should not be damming guns but should be thankful that patriots have taken them up in use against tyrants or you would not be celebrating the liberties (such as free speech) that you enjoy today. Gun crime is down... Hard pill for you to swallow but the truth is for you liberals.

NRA Members would be called on to donate to new funds that would finance the NRA-related activities, and possibly, to directly assist schools in implementing the program. Also, many new opportunities would be available for trained School Resource Officers in your local community.

That was proposal. But we will never know since Biden and your traitors kicked it to the curb straight away.

NCN...how do we achieve the end goal of preventing misuse of a weapon? it is a sad statement to think that law enforcement is required at a public school. the psyche of the violent perpetrator unchecked will find their target and use whatever means necessary.

Why is the NRA afraid of the truth? The truth is there is no evidence that armed guards or police officers in schools make children safer. Columbine High School had an armed guard, and Virginia Tech had a full campus police force.
