good morning moderation...you still owe me something from when you wrote "I will post more about absolute and education later" :-)
if i could have i may have even worked three jobs...as long as the third was a professional golfer! :-)
asknot, before i forget. i do not agree with we as a people should be forcing anyone to work by law. i do think that the motivation to work needs to be prodded from within. there has to be instilled into people the desire and drive to gain employment. for the most part there are plenty of jobs available. are the jobs dream jobs??? not always, but they are still jobs. very few individuals walk into their forever job on the first go-round. everyone faces hurdles in life and especially when searching for a creer and maintaining a household. perhaps our focus in the schools should be more geared toward self-sufficiency rather than social justice. it seems to me that if one is occupied by providing for themselves, then the problems associated with social discontent and idle hands will take care of itself. when i worked two jobs while raising children, i was thankful and appreciative for the opportunity. it gave me the resources to make the investments and build the companies that i own. if
good morning asknot. i do believe that there is only one Jesus and can not be confused with anyone or annything else. the Islamic faith recognizes Jesus and does not attribute him to anything other than a prophet. they do not accept that he is part of the trinity. i do think that the muslims worship god the father. their prophet Muhammad is similar to the mormons John Smith as writing their inspired additions to their books of faith. the apostle Paul was hand-picked by Jesus to deliver his message to the Gentiles. i think that all of mankind has an innate understanding that there is someone or something greater than themselves in this universe. however, Jesus was very direct and specific when he said. "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me". that seems to be very direct and final. there are no if's, and's or but's associated with that at all. the subject of the Pope is a totally different discussion altogether.
Dear Pope, The Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:2-17 NKJV) #1 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me."
good morning lts-thank you for your thoughtful response. To answer a previous question put to me, I do believe that we should enjoy what we have earned above each individuals/family' subsistence level.i don't consider that greed.Got run and try to beat the heavier rain that is moving in.I will post more about absolute and education later.have a good day
asknot...forgot to say thanks for the rand paul information. i have been somewhat out of the loop recently. i have some catching up to do.
and ebt starts rolling. those that can and don't work soak up the resources for those that really need it. join me and support getting the "cans but won't" off their collective bottoms and direct the money to those with real needs.
good morning asknot. i am not sure of your question...now as far as "can and won't". since i could not find any hard statistics, a guesstamationon my part would be ay minimum 30-40% range. having a working knowlege of folks living in section 8 housing gave me a fairly good insight into some of the thought processes that many base their day to day lives on. the one prevailing line of thought involves the cost of daycare verses collecting government subsistance and staying in their section 8 subsidized home. you also have the problem of unemployed adult age children that live in the housing and collect government monies. as much as i would like to float on the fluffy cloud in the liberal-land of pity and success-guilt, i face the hard facts that there exist people that have garnered enough mathematical ability to figure out that the monies they would earn by being dumb-as-dirt can be had with little or no effort by filling out a form that says help me and voila....the checks a
would prefer to have others provide their existence rather than themselves. i also agreed and understand that there are those that can never provide for themselves and i have zero problem providing. even in your compassionate mind you will have to agree that there are many people that rise above adverse beginning to accomplish wonderful things. one must be willing to rise above.
moderation, unfortunately the world as we know it operates off of a balance sheet. the question is do we perpetuate a problem or do we correct a problem. it occurs to me that the financial support through direct and indirect payments are not producing the desired results. as long as we continue to reward the crippling of efforts to effectively educate our youth and eventual adults, we will realize the same failures over and over again. you do not have to have riches to succeed in our society. most folks have taken advantage of what we as a society have to offer and have made appreciable contributions. let me repeat in case you missed the gist of my criticsm..."the rub comes in where folks can and won't provide for themselves". the key words are "can" and "won't". we have provided for the relatively free education of all citzens for 12 years and heavily subsidized higher education and yet we still have TOO MANY that decided for whatever reason that they wo
Good morning lts- Sure. You may ask.Not all children begin their lives under equal circumstances. Generally speaking, imo, your balance sheet approach to every socially sensitive economic situation has only a balance sheet remedy.A 'cut 'em off at the knees' approach, that is good enough for for "dumb as dirt" ers. Children, of course grow into adults, but they don't always mature equally for many reasons.Let's take care of them all.
asknot...what is that rascal up too?
good evening moderation. in this uncertain day and time i must inquire as to the end game of the personal information you seek.
good morning lts- would it an accurate assumption for me to believe that as a child, you experienced a relatively safe, stable and nurturing relationship with your adult caregivers? ....and that social and educational exposures were given a prominent role in your development,as well? Just asking.
moderation...sounds like you made a solid investment! :-) glad you got a chuckle out of the ADT reference. i really hate giving away free promos...but that one was just too good to pass up.
lts-I had to laugh at the adt reference ! I was cutting a little patch of timber some years ago and had to hire a couple of brothers from a poor local family to keep the whole family from stealing my fuel and batteries.(-;
to you as well.
vodka this early?????
i'll accept absolute. tell you what. when i see an appreciable change in the number of people that i find absolute in their lack of initiative under our current system, then i will modify ny stance and lessen my absolute stance. until then... the truth is absolute.
