Racial Group Guilt

This is just to gauge how you feel about racial group guilt when it comes to politics and cultural topics. Has the media or any organization ever made you feel that you couldn't debate about the topic of race because of the specific race you belong to?

asknot - I had a Black friend (now deceased) that moved here from Washington DC. He was young and of extreme temperament when he first arrived. He told me that some older Black folk, living here, pulled him aside one day and said, "We don't have any problem with White folks in this area and we don't want any." He was one of the most pleasurable men I've ever been around and I miss our exchanges of ideas to this day.

Now, you were expressing some apparent disdain for this being "The second least diverse area in the country"???

How do you like our crime rate compared to that of our nations more non-homogenous areas and how do you explain that?

thegreek - That is, unless someone wants to wear their skin as an unquestioned insurance policy and frontline defense against deserved ridicule, or it's used by someone else who wants to cover them because they know the ridicule IS deserved (something we have a whole lot of going on today).

EXAMPLE; "Gosh, didn't it seem that the president might be twisting the truth today?"

RESPONSE; "You're just a*******Racist!"

We - as Americans, should be able to disagree with each others opinion without underlying factors even being considered. One would think it would normally be a sign of respect or consideration of the other as an equal, with an important opinion if s/he were of a diverse backround !!! This pointing out obvious color differences is a cultural COP OUT in my opinion !!

"A BS line", or one for which you have no clever response, asknot? After all, it's NOT me saying it and I found it on a Liberal website.

Should you really be asking me if I "ever lived outside the MOV" OR will you take some advice and look to some other sources to quantify what YOU THINK you know?

asknot - "The most dangerous place for an African-American is in the womb" (~ Liberal Logic 101)

"The great irony is that abortion has done what the Klan only dreamed of....Roughly 1/4 of the black population is now missing." (~ Dr. Alveda King, niece of MLK Jr.)

Just maybe the reason that "someone like him (doesn't) rise to power again" IS because there's little need or demand for it to occur, as I indicated earlier.

While I agree with your premise, if the current crop of Black leaders felt themselves to be being financially threatened by MLK's thoughtful manners, they COULD have him shot, again.

Those that have much to lose are willing to step on another man's face in order to keep it. Sorry...but it's that way.

Is it racial to dislike this administration when incompetence rises to laughable levels?

Beset by problems with the rollout of the president’s health-care law, the Obama administration has canceled plans to allow small businesses in many states to use a website to select health-insurance plans for their employees for next year.

I wonder what "MLK" would think of the rampant Black-on-Black crime rate today, just in the city of Chicago, if you'd like?

DON'T TELL ME!!! It's the fault of the White man, right?

PS Let me take you out to Cutler or Barnett Ridge and introduce you.

Maybe you're just unfortunate and have a bunch of Whiners for friends, oneill!

I've had Black friends my whole life and I don't hear squat from them about what your pushing.

I grew up with them, went to school with them, worked with them and reside with them now. In my over half a century experience, local Blacks don't seem to be oppressed to me.

Here's a little ditty, of which many locals are unaware. During the Carter era, a local chemical plant sent recruiters from Parkersburg, WV to Canton, Ohio to encourage Blacks there to seek employment here and several did. Meanwhile, there were many qualified White applicants that were walked around by that company in order to meet the federally mandated hiring quotas.

YES SIREEEE! That right there exemplifies classic oppression at it's finest!

All of my minority friends, relatives and neighbors are getting along just fine at this time. I try to take care of them.

Just for all you "Race Baiters" out there. You're about as helpful and effective as any Master-Baiter.

Well, it couldn't be any ol white person...it would have to be a celebrity like Oprah. Everyday stupidty by an unknown person doesn't matter to the media.

I think people get along pretty good except in the METRO cities and if famous people would stay out we would all be better off.

I think if a white person said that about her the lynch mob would be here and Spike Lee would be giving out your personal address !!! DOUBLE STANDARD B.S.

Oprah said, "There are still generations of people, older people, who were born and bred and marinated in it, in that prejudice and racism, and they just have to die".

Is she right? In essence yes but could she have said it better...oh yes. Most beliefs and prejudices that are obsolete in a society will creep about as long as the previous generation does. Obviously she doesn't mean that one should hope old people will die or anything like that.

She is a race baiter. Just because one disagrees with her and BHO's "ingenious" policies makes them prejudice.
