Obamacare is not "FREE" health care

People have finally realized that the word “free” is nowhere to be found in Obamacare’s “ Affordable Health Care Act”. Coverage under President Barack Obama's health care law won't be cheap. A study released Thursday by the nonprofit Kaiser Family Foundation found that government tax credits would lower the sticker price on a benchmark "silver" policy to a little over $190 a month for single people making about $29,000, regardless of their age. For uninsured people who are paying nothing today, this is still a big cost that they're expected to fit into their budgets.

The law provides health insurance subsidies to more than 6 million taxpayers. In general, they are lower-income Americans who file the simplest tax returns — a 1040 EZ.

Now, however, that will not be an option. Instead, all who received subsidies must file a Form 8962, which requires five pages of IRS rules to explain. Among other things, it requires a full accounting including the cost of their premium, subsidy, and tax credit. Not only that, the form is to be filled out for each and every month of the year.

This may not seem like a big deal to those who write the rules and are affluent enough to hire someone else to prepare their taxes. But it is unlikely that those receiving healthcare subsidies have accountants to handle such things.

So it is FREE health care for some...I understand this, but many who couldn't afford insurance are getting it...not everyone has the attitude of let someone else pay my way, they just need a hand up...we'll see in a couple years if it's going to have any benefit...I know these last 2 yrs. is the first time our insurance hasn't went up, everything stayed the same...

I've got things to do so don't mistake me for boogering off :)

It's better than them paying nothing at all...they've got away with that for years why those of us who have had coverage have paid higher cost to cover those who don't...every dime counts...

this tax season seems sure to bring a public backlash as the IRS imposes penalties on people for not having insurance, or people find out they have to repay the IRS because their insurance subsidies were too generous.

One silver lining: A total of 16 Senators who voted for the federal health care takeover either failed to win re-election or declined to run for re-election.

Insurance plan deductibles under Obamacare vary so wildly across the country for 2015 that many consumers are left confused and, in some cases, sticker shocked. In 2015, Those who make more than 250% of the federal poverty limit in most parts of the country would have to pay for all of their non-preventive health care up to $6,600 for a single person or even $13,200 for a family. A single person who earned about $30,000 a year would be over 250% of the federal poverty limit. But someone in charge said that “High deductible plans "are good if consumers understand that what it requires is saving to make sure they have adequate resources to get the things they need taken care of”.

Are you kidding? You’re asking people to take responsibility for themselves?

Say is ain't so! Not in Obamaland.

Almost 6.4 million people selected a health-care plan on the federal marketplace or were automatically re-enrolled in the first month of the Affordable Care Act’s open-enrollment season this fall, Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Mathews Burwell said Tuesday.....what happened to the 8 million…..for a program sold as being desperately needed there still seems to be a high level of apathy from the people who were claimed to be in need.

A bill desperately in search for a problem.
