Obamacare is not "FREE" health care

People have finally realized that the word “free” is nowhere to be found in Obamacare’s “ Affordable Health Care Act”. Coverage under President Barack Obama's health care law won't be cheap. A study released Thursday by the nonprofit Kaiser Family Foundation found that government tax credits would lower the sticker price on a benchmark "silver" policy to a little over $190 a month for single people making about $29,000, regardless of their age. For uninsured people who are paying nothing today, this is still a big cost that they're expected to fit into their budgets.

Low flood insurnance rates are subsidized by tax payers. When an attempt yo pass the true cost of flood insurance on to those who buy it, there was howl heard throughout the land.

good morning to you moderation. i would venture to propose the site's owner, Mr. Hess, would be the "Po-Po". he has stated that he is very liberal in regards to the latitude in which he allows the posters to express their thoughts. considering the bunch over here it could be a "roadhouse" scenario!

tired-Do you think your career work should be considered more valuable in terms of medical health security than that of a municipal worker or an employee of a landscaping business?I already know you believe you are contributing your intellect at a gold standard level.

I am still amazed that people expect their neighbors to pay for their healthcare, flood insurance, etc.

Actually, Tired, you did manage to stumble upon one correct assumption for a change. It IS all about "me me me" (I would however, include "and my family" in your blurt).

That is the reason I go to work every day, and pay my due to the IRS this time of year.

The guy who got beat up in Detroit by sa mob is in a hospital clinging to his life. He has no health insurance. I wonder if the glitches in healthcare . gov had something to do with him having no insurance?

Suggested listening: Tennessee Ernie Ford's "Sixteen Tons" (I owe my soul to the Company Store).

Where will you, or your kids, be in twenty years? Obligated to a corporation... Or represented by OUR government. The choice is yours to make.

Have a good future.

In my lifetime, we've endured a huge "wealth redistribution scheme" as put forth by corporatist right wing interests. Food, education, and medical costs to name a few, have skyrocketed disproportionately to income. Pension income and benefits that were once provided by very profitable corporations have all but vanished for those seeking retirement.

Feel free to support a continued enhancement of the corporate bottom line with your own pocketbook if you so choose.

However, I for one could use a few more "socialist left" adjustments that benefit ME... as opposed to the Republican (and Democrat) support of the CEO of Haliburton, et al, thank you very much.

Howlers in Obama’s April Fools’ Day address: He told the American people that “Because of [Obamacare], 100 million Americans have gained free preventive care, like mammograms and contraceptive care, under their existing plans.” Here we have a President of the United States who does not understand that when the government requires health insurers to provide additional benefits, the cost of their health insurance has to go up, just to ensure the insurer has enough money to pay all the covered benefits. So there is nothing “free” about Obamacare’s required preventive care.

The population of the U.S. is 314 million. On the day Obamacare was passed, the estimate of the uninsured was 60 million. So in this context, the supposed 7 million Americans signed up for insurance on the Obamacare Exchanges, even if that is a valid number, and all of those have actually started paying premiums, both of which are highly dubious, does not mean any significant success for Obamacare.

BeRight

That is especially so since at least 6 million Americans have lost their health insurance due to Obamacare, so far, with more to come once the illegally and arbitrarily delayed employer mandate becomes effective, if it is ever allowed to do so. The estimate based on a new Rand Corporation study is that only 858,000 Americans signed up on the Obamacare Exchanges were previously uninsured.

"so judge not lest YOU be judged."

I am merely trying to give correct you in a gentle manner that Paul asked since you are the opposition. I do this in hope that God may grant you repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth.

"So big surprise I am critical of the Dems."

Nothing wrong with reasonable criticism. Is this what you have been doing?

"excuses for a move toward socialism"

Where have I ever supported Socialism as the best govt style? I'll answer that for you..I never have.
