Comparison: Obamacare and Prohibition

In the 1920, the 18th Amendment went into effect and made the US a "dry" country. For 13 years the hardest hit by this law was working class people, while those who made the laws had booze whenever they wanted it. Now we have a law that (so far) is extremely unpopular and effects the working class people while those in power may not have to participate. Are their similarities in the two events? Could Obamacare be repealed? Discuss..be nice.

Hasn’t President Obama violated the Affordable Care Act by unilaterally offering delays and other incentives to labor unions and favored groups?

@asknot- that's been a hope of mine from the beginning that while it's not perfect (far from it actually) it could be modified to work for the country the way the old system was failing.

"The real purpose of Obamacare"..is to get people insurance.

From the Huffington Post: Obama rejected legislative proposals akin to Upton's bill. "I will not accept proposals that are just another brazen attempt to undermine or repeal the overall law and drag us back into a broken system." um...can you insurance folks help a brother out by going back to the broken system while i implement "MY" broken system? The ACA was so well thought out wasn't it? i love how Obama blames evryone but who is responsible. remember he said "The Buck Stops...er, uh on those guys but definately not me! he is a hoot. thank God for term limits.

R1KRA8 - Did you hear Charles Krauthammer predict that the collapse of ObamaCare could backset the Liberal movement in this country by a decade?

And some are surprised that Bubba Clinton is NOW requesting Obama rescind the legislation that is effecting the grandfathering of those that already have policies they wish to keep.

A disaster like ObamaCare (as is) could block the door of the WH from Hillary entrance in 2016.

And we thought Slick Willie was just being altruistic.

So Kun...you were not able to show where it says microchips in Obamacare either...how am I not surprised. Btw, I am not liberal.

sooner or later all technologies catch up with conspiracy theories or is it vice-versa????? possibly we should consult Snowden.

Kendall - I guess you Libs expect the rest of us to do EVERYTHING for you (and pay for it too).

When you suggest; "where it specifically states that microchips will be implanted, we all would love to see it." MAYBE the following will help you understand the synergy that helped bring Obama and Biden together originally (also involving SCOTUS Chief Justice John Roberts).

"Biden Declares Supreme Court Will Rule On Human RFID Chipping"

moderation - You ask, ...at what level NSA 'business' is exposed to the scotus?"

I would imagine at NO LEVEL is NSA I.T. gathering exposed to the SCOTUS (unless it's rolled into a case before the court). So, the NSA COULD surprise Justice Roberts with info they may have had on him.

Didn't Obama, just recently "claim" that HE had no idea we were spying on Angela Merkel?

thegreek - While I support what you said about medical microchips "Big brother maintaining your location so they can drone your a s $ if you are a threat". Big Brother, NO DOUBT, has had some of us tracked, retroactively, for years. Where you live and where your likely to go is at their fingertips.

While many consider Eric Snowden a 'traitor', it's just possible that he saw enough of this to decide, from a patriotic attitude of resentment about it, to decide to blow the whistle on what the American public was being set up for.

Does that indicate you are Marie G. McIntyre Ph.D., and your shingle is out ?

All I see is nothing in it that says a thing about microchips.

What I do see is this, "life-supporting, or life-sustaining" which has nothing at all to do with the microchips you are talking about. Devices that it is talking about would be pace makers and the like.

Now if you would like to try again and show where it specifically states that microchips will be implanted, we all would love to see it.

But for now, you have failed to show that microchips will be used based on your own citation because microchips are not life-supporting, or life-sustaining.

stickhauler, well maybe it is good to step away sometimes. although, i wish you would not let fred deter you. you should feel as passionately about your views as he does his and not shy away from posting them. besides sometimes he even makes sense! go figure.

Kendall78

And what fact do have to counter them?

Can you show where in Obamacare that was passed by Congress, signed by the President and ok'd by the Supreme Court where microchips have been approved in the way you have described?

You raised the issue, kunec.

moderation - To answer your question, I would suggest you do your own research and Google; "Chief Justice John Roberts blackmailed".

As you do so ask yourself, "Do I know of anyone, that I know for certain, that would not have a skeleton in their closet that they would want revealed?

Now, when it comes to people with substantial amounts of power over others bestowed upon them, multiply that resistence to public exposure by several magnitudes.

@thegeek- direct yourself to this: h t t p://w w w.snopes.c om/politics/medical/microchip.asp

If you have a factual counter to it, we would all like to see it.

Oh, perhaps not, rik. I believe Roberts would not allow such an effort to go unrecognized and not be legally prosecuted. I wonder what conspirosy theorists'might consider enough leverage to move that man? I also wonder at what level NSA 'business' is exposed to the scotus?
