Is the GOP "out of touch" with women?

A recent CNN poll has 55% of Americans saying that the GOP doesn't understand women. Is it true that the GOP, and by extension Right-leaning Conservatives, really out of touch or is it just a perceived truth without merit? Is the GOP allowing the Liberals/Dems/Left to define to the public what they stand for?

"I hold them BOTH equally responsible"

While they both are equal in the act, the result is not equal though. If the father wants to end the life of the fetus, they would have to do a physical act against the woman that would be against her will. That would not do.

If a woman makes the choice, she is taking the physical risks willingly. There isn't only one result in the "act" they performed but two.

One is that the woman is now going through a physical change and the other is that she will eventually give birth to a child. They are not exclusivelt the same thing.

A woman is a sentient being and her physical rights overide the desire of the man. If the man is wanting her to get an abortion and she doesn't want to...sorry guy but it ***** to be you.

I don't want to get of on a misogynous bent here, I love chicks lol. I am just saying this is ONE area that the law is very biased. I am not sure how to change it, but anyone who has a brain can see its not equitable.

Kendall we are not talking about after the fact, I realize women can be forced to pay child support but its because they LOST custody, the default position is they GET custody. It takes an act of congress to get custody, they screwed up really bad.

Tired said, "its a MANS business when the law will force him to pay for 18 years.."

Actually, I've known women to pay child support, so it's not all on the men. Mostly it is of course but the law is finally trying to level off.

I don't know how you resolve it, as biology has trumped fairness to some extent. I just don't think it fair that a man has two choices, let your child die or pay for two decades.

I understand that a woman has the burden of pregnancy, but her choice not only kills a child potentially but she also has a man by the short hairs so to speak without him having a say. A MAN worth his salt will support his child but what if he wants to but cannot?

I find it to be completely out of line with the standards of fairness and equality that we strive for.

Well ASK equal treatment under the law is a hallmark of of who we are.

Tiredofit

ASK you make the women sound like a powerless victim, she had a choice too.

Tiredofit

Sorry that's just my opinion, like it or not it makes little difference to me.

Tiredofit

Fairness dictates that all parties be treated the same. TWO people created that child, one does not have the right to kill it and the other have to pay for nearly two decades

I hold them BOTH equally responsible

the CHOICE was made when they engaged in the ACTIVITY

Agreed, so if the woman isn't using BC why doesn't the man offer to use some??...why leave it up to Just the woman??...

Tiredofit

That is NOT right or fair. If she wants to keep the child he is on the hook for 18 years which is fine by me, but if she choses to KILL it, he has NO SAY> not right

Tiredofit

It was a mutual decision, yet the result of same is not?

Does the WOMAN not know what causes pregnancy>>?

Posted 168 days ago.

Tiredofit

SO the women has NO responsibility in protection?

its a MANS business when the law will force him to pay for 18 years if it lives but says he has no say in it.

The man had his say when he slept with the woman Without protection...why is it just the womans responsibility for birth control??... protection...

Tiredofit

Why does a MAN not have a say if his child should live or die>? He will be held to account if it lives as he should, but if the choice is DEATH, he has none.
