| Latest Post: Started By: Rank: Category Are the Second Amendment "rights" of Americans really being "threatened" - or is this complaint just another gimmick to get the right-wing, reactionary base "fired up" for 2012?Well Bob, if you're not going to do it, I guess I'll have to ... Some of today's "pretend patriots" might want to look at what is happening in Egypt ... A real "revolution" isn't pretty ... Some Americans, however, are claiming that President Obama and his administration are "tyrants", and (in the words of failed Nevada Senatorial candidate Sharron Angle) "Second Amendment Solutions" might be needed ... Is she right? Or is she just "right-wing"? Inquiring minds want to know! Member CommentsMunsterWell know I may have phrased it improperly because of the geneva convention its illegal to use "hollow points" so they left a cavity inside the bullets tip to cayse it to yaw excessively on contact ! That and the barrel twist caused the most damage on human flesh as possible ! Now have I been wrong on this subject matter lately LTS ??? The russians did almost the same thing with what they called the "spoon tip" ! Posted 80 days ago. R1KRA8luvthesouth & stickhauler Is it possible that in the childish mind like Munster’s . . . Hollow Point Bullets are “air bubbles in bullets”? LOL Posted 80 days ago. luvthesouthmunster, i googled your "air" bullet and found nothing. i am aware of the shockwave bubble as a bullet enters at high velocity. this is commonly known as hydrostatic shock. either way, unless you throw a bullet at someone, chances are they are going to be injured or killed. but then again a high velocity baseball will yield similar results without penetration. MunsterYeah and I still know more than you !!! And the good ole USA has been putting air bubbles in bullets for a long time ! Posted 81 days ago. stickhaulerI saw your biased "link", just because some liberal posted a bunch of crap on the internet, that doesn't make it fact. You should know, you do it all the time! Posted 81 days ago. MunsterSo sticky since your so smart , I bet you never even looked what I told you up ! Posted 81 days ago. stickhaulerCont: The need for a lighter rifle stemmed more from the extra battle load of the modern day infantry soldier than any use for urban warfare. But that wouldn't follow the line of BS you're floating, would it Freddie? Posted 81 days ago. stickhaulerI didn't say a thing about "right-wing polls." I said independent polls, i.e., not polls commissioned by media outlets. Even polls you claim show a majority of Americans support universal gun background checks rate the need far below many other issues facing our country, like the National debt and unemployment. Since your link fails to offer more than claims of "notes" being written in support of the AWB, sorry, but that claim fails the "smell test." This site couldn't even get the facts straight on what the Brady Bill did. It didn't invoke a waiting period before you could get a handgun transferred to you, and the background check is done by the FBI's NICS's system, not local law enforcement. Your buddy is still making idiotic claims, a "bubble of air" in the bullet of a 5.56 mm round? Really? Gee, I can't even Google up that idiotic claim on the internet. Check it out! ... Gosh, I wonder why? Posted 82 days ago. oneillyour claim that weapons like the AR-15 are lighter is correct. That is because they were designed to be carried in street-to-street combat situations. THAT is also why hoods and psychos prefer to use them rather than more traditional weapons. Duh! Posted 82 days ago. oneill@Stick - This one's easy! You are saying nothing more than "the rightwing polls that I choose to believe are more accurate that the majority of other polls that say that I'm wrong". Your info about the effectiveness of assault-weapon bans and background-checks comes from the same rightwing sources as your favorite rightwing polls. Despite your claims, bans on these weapons HAVE worked in GB and Australia ... Yes, local sheriffs are more controlled by constituents who hate different kinds of people and hate most laws in general - and that's how it worked in places like Mississippi in 1963! ... On the notion that gun laws don't need to be strictly enforced because crooks will disobey them - so we no longer need stop signs or traffic-lights because some offenders will run through them? ... Do you know more about the impact effects of AR-15 bullets than Dr. William Begg, the Newtown, CT Medical Examiner who examined the 27 corpses at Sandy Hook school? I doubt it! ... Ronald Reagan Helped Pass The 1994 Assault Weapons Ban
****outsidethebeltway.c om/ronald-reagan-helped-pass-the... Posted 82 days ago. stickhaulerBTW Free, did you ever figure out who was the President in 1994? Hint: It wasn't Ronald Reagan! Nobody needs to work at making you look a fool. You do it willingly! Posted 82 days ago. stickhaulerAh, Free, our resident ballistics expert? Most any rifle bullet's shape makes them unbalanced, yet aerodynamic. How many years has the myth/urban legend of the "tumbling bullet" been around? Care to offer us any actual, factual proof of your claim? Just because the "Internet" says so doesn't make that the truth. And your repeating it enough times doesn't turn a lie into the truth. There's also the, again bogus claim, that the 5.56 mm round was developed to simply wound a soldier, thereby taking more resources (soldiers) "out of the fight" to care for the wounded soldier. AR style rifles were originally made for the civilian market, chambered in .308 caliber. It was only borrowed/adapted to military use later on, when we went to a common round for NATO forces. Eugene Stoner didn't design it as a people killer, it was designed to be a light, indestructable hunting rifle. Posted 82 days ago.
