CLEAN... ENERGY

Offshore wind farms from New Jersey to Virginia took a big step closer to reality with the completion of a review that showed the renewable energy source would not cause major environmental damage, officials said today. Wind projects off the coasts of Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, and New Jersey are being studied. The Mid-Atlantic lease proposal follows the Cape Wind project in Massachusetts that was given the go-ahead in 2010 after 9 years of federal review."No developer should have to wait nine or 10 years," for approval, Salazar said. The response from the developers was "DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"

"Yeah but I havent seen my taxes go up , have you ?"

....perfect example of the train of thought of many americans. the politicians do a great job of sweeping our financial woes under the proverbial carpet...which answers why there are no smooth carpets in government. in addition, if they don't pay taxes now...they would you expect to pay in the future...your polticicians have bought manies vote way to cheap.

as found in the publication...Energy Tax policies of the 113th congress:

Energy tax policy involves the use of one of the government’s main fiscal instruments, taxes (both as an incentive and as a disincentive) to alter the allocation or configuration of energy resources and their use. In theory, energy taxes and subsidies, like tax policy instruments in general, are intended either to correct a problem or distortion in the energy markets or to achieve some economic (efficiency, equity, or macroeconomic) objective. In practice, however, energy tax policy in the United States is made in a political setting, determined by fiscal dictates and the views and interests of the key players in this setting, including policymakers, special interest groups, and academic scholars. As a result, enacted tax policy embodies compromises between economic and political goals, which could either mitigate or compound existing distortions."

Climate Deal: China promises to begin reducing carbon emissions 15 years from now. India , already one of the top three emitters, announced it will be tripling its coal-fired electricity capacity by 2030........................Meanwhile, the Obama administration is effectively dismantling America’s entire coal industry. So, who got the deal?
