CLEAN... ENERGY

Offshore wind farms from New Jersey to Virginia took a big step closer to reality with the completion of a review that showed the renewable energy source would not cause major environmental damage, officials said today. Wind projects off the coasts of Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, and New Jersey are being studied. The Mid-Atlantic lease proposal follows the Cape Wind project in Massachusetts that was given the go-ahead in 2010 after 9 years of federal review."No developer should have to wait nine or 10 years," for approval, Salazar said. The response from the developers was "DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"

23 (Reuters) - Residents of a Montana town whose water supply was tainted by an oil pipeline rupture last week got the all-clear on Friday to turn taps back on, though some reported brown or black material spurting from faucets even after their pipes were flushed.

Yep, those shut off valves are 100% effective eh...

Maybe you're right to be against the pipeline, ohwiseone, since you THINK you're right about everything. The Canadian tar sands oils ARE presently being moved by railcar. OH, THAT'S SO MUCH SAFER THAN A PIPELINE WITH INTERMEDIATE, COMPUTER-CONTROLLED SHUT OFF VALVES AND PUMPS! Let's just continue to move it the old-fashioned way so we can have more of this.

Theres still the question . Why make a pipeline that goes across our country when it would be a shorter route to Lake Superior and use tankers just like they do with Alaskan oil ?

All Democratic congressmen/women unwilling to override an Obama veto concerning Keystone should take note of one thing FOR SURE.

The ISIS forces are aware of Japanese dependence upon oil from the Middle East. As they gain more territory and power, they will attempt to cleave off America's coalition partners by denying them the oil they need.

America can preserve her allied agreements by taking up the slack and providing the oil to those that ISIS would hope to separate from us. The more wells, the more pipelines and the more energy production, under our direct control, weakens our enemies (including Vladimir Putin).

ANY U.S. politicians voting against the Keystone should be considered - (how did Obama put it?), oh yeah, "unpatriotic".

Ohwiseone

Now all they have to do is override the veto !

OWO... i agree with you on your point. It would seem like the natural producers would team with resellers and invest in your idea. However conversion of vehicles is cost prohibitive. Now if the auto manufacturers could get on board then I think it would have a shot.

Congress sends keystone pipeline bill to the whitehouse

Ohwiseone

Small steps ! With the availability of massive amounts of natural gas in our area you would think that there would be natural gas cars and fueling pumps everywhere , but you know who sees that as a threat !

Posted 143 days ago.

BeRight

Sure. We should start that process by having all the Fed Gov't buildings do it first to make sure it is practical. Have all FED vehicles converted to Natural Gas or electric.

The Gov't should lead the way and not force the way.

beright...what would be your opinion of alternate power charging stations for electric personal mobility vehicles ILO our current hybrid gasoline(todays gasoline is not pure gasoline) filling stations?? in addition would you support the phasing out of carbon-based home heating sources(ie: fuel oil, propane and natural gas)?

Gulf Power, a subsidiary of Southern Co. , announced plans to retire coal-fired generating Units 1 & 2 at the Plant Smith power plant by March 31, 2016.

The company said it was in their customers’ best interest to retire the units, located near Panama City, Florida, after stricter regulations were imposed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The facility will continue to operate and produce electricity with its state-of-the-art combined-cycle natural gas-fired unit, which went into service in 2002.

Additionally, Gulf Power will utilize Plant Crist, a coal-fired facility, which added a $650 million scrubber in 2009.

You need to send your disgust to the folks in China and India. They are the biggest contributors to the Faux warming you are concerned about.
