CLEAN... ENERGY

Offshore wind farms from New Jersey to Virginia took a big step closer to reality with the completion of a review that showed the renewable energy source would not cause major environmental damage, officials said today. Wind projects off the coasts of Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, and New Jersey are being studied. The Mid-Atlantic lease proposal follows the Cape Wind project in Massachusetts that was given the go-ahead in 2010 after 9 years of federal review."No developer should have to wait nine or 10 years," for approval, Salazar said. The response from the developers was "DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"

John Smith at The Energy Collective. (please note that the referenced calculations were a chart and could not be pasted correctly.)

The above calculation results indicate that replacing all existing coal power with new natural gas and wind power will require $0.84 Trillion in capital costs and increases annual power production costs from $68 Billion/yr. up to $90 Billion/yr. This results in a 13% increase in average delivered power costs for the fraction of total U.S. power supplied currently by coal. The increase in of delivered power costs based on replacing all coal with 50/50 natural gas/wind power results in total average U.S. delivered power costs increasing by 5%. These calculated results appear to agree reasonably well with EIA NEMS estimates.

Beright..****pany supplied sweaters and foot heaters should offset the discrepency quite nicely. naturally less clothing, while debatable for some, is a viable option but opens pandoras box of issues.

Why women are cold in the summer at the office: Scientists (two men, for the record) are urging an end to the Great Arctic Office Conspiracy. Their study, published Monday in the journal Nature Climate Change, says that most office buildings set temperatures based on a decades-old formula that uses the metabolic rates of men. The study concludes that buildings should “reduce gender-discriminating bias in thermal comfort” because setting temperatures at slightly warmer levels can help combat global warming.

“In a lot of buildings, you see energy consumption is a lot higher because the standard is calibrated for men’s body heat production” “If you have a more accurate view of the thermal demand of the people inside, then you can design the building so that you are wasting a lot less energy, and that means the carbon dioxide emission is less.”

The Clean, whoops I meant the Costly Power Plan is a tax on electricity that will hurt those that can least afford it and will weaken our electricity grid’s reliability with an unworkable set of regulations that will drive up costs, but provide no real benefits.

Never in history did one side plan in advance to let our country turn to crap by obstructing everything ! And the ones this hurts the most are real working americans ! The ones that it doesnt bother are the wealthy and powerful who are the republicans benefactors !

absolem

Perhaps i should have said "blind hatred". did you ever consider the Republicans are just playing politics and many may actually not agree with the vision of the president. i feel fairly certain that the obstruction by the democrats in a recent post from you and NCN indicate the the pendulum does swing both ways. there is a big difference i your doggedness of anything but democrat and independent so far...you remind me of a story i just read about a woman in West Virginia...need i say more..that bit the testicles off of her sons pit bull. you come off as that rabid.

OWO...and you celebrate the devaluation of The Nobel Peace Prize. actually...that is not hwy he got the prize...but never let facts get in the way of your hatred.

Ohwiseone

Why does the world hold your republinutz in such low esteem ! After all , they gave our president a nobel prize just for kicking their arses out !

absolem

OWO...why does the world hold the Pope in high esteem? he is voted into the position, he is still just a man, and can't prevent his own demise. his control over large amounts of people and wealth seem to be his most enviable assets to world leaders. research a bit into the formation of the vatican and how it is a country within a country. it is a twisted blend of faith and government.
