CLEAN... ENERGY

Offshore wind farms from New Jersey to Virginia took a big step closer to reality with the completion of a review that showed the renewable energy source would not cause major environmental damage, officials said today. Wind projects off the coasts of Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, and New Jersey are being studied. The Mid-Atlantic lease proposal follows the Cape Wind project in Massachusetts that was given the go-ahead in 2010 after 9 years of federal review."No developer should have to wait nine or 10 years," for approval, Salazar said. The response from the developers was "DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"

A seventy year mini ice age would challenge our species to the max.I am sure it would give birth to an earth wide revolution.

Absolem, you are a heretic, the only thing that affects climate is money. Don't come around here spreading your denial hatred and blaming that giant ball of heat, its 93 million miles away after all.

AOL news....solar scientists predict "mini-ice age" in 15 years. It appears solar cycles affect climate in cycles. The last occurrence was between 1645 and 1715.

OWO...good late afternoon. please look at my earlier post again regarding Mr. Gore. i applauded his money-making abilites in our system. my bigger point is that when an industry as large as energy production changes hands, there are going to be those that are at the forefront and will score big. that's a fact, industry leaders succeed and fail all of the time. Mr. Gore has a great advantage when it comes to investing and influencing the future than you or i. take a moment and google "making momey off climate change". as NCN said "google is your friend".

I keep up with the markets and financial news and yet there has been NO SHOW on how many are making a killing in the climate change market !Seems to be more of somes right-wing speculation !

Please elaborate ! Give me facts and figures ! Or are you just another mindless follower of the rights bullsh^t factory ? You all keep on bringing up Al Gore yet he was wealthy before all this ! I thought you righties were all about "free enterprise" and the accumulation of riches !

OWO.."as far as you know" that is the only truth in your statement. I am enjoying a slice of sweet potato pie and suggest you do some research on the millions made so far and to come on the back of climate change. Matter of fact you can start with Lowe's or Home Depot. They make millions every year from climate change.

hey, in the good old days before the GOP went insane, green issues were largely bi-partisan... after all, even Ted Nugent knows that protecting wilderness and the environment is essential for his hunting and fishing...he is or was a card-carrying member of the sierra club...

Where is Gore for Ohio?? I haven't heard or seen of him yet !!

Coaluser

I used to live in Ohio until they closed the power plant down and I moved out of state for a job. Next year aint gonna look so good for Kasich cause of the closing of power plants, coal mines and the Marcellus Shale drilling has been whoa-ed.

OWO....Al Gore is a very savvy investor and one that has fond success financially. i applaud him for that. however, people will enrich themselves when there is a major shift in an industry as large as energy production. look at T. Boone Pickens and others that lead the charge for change in an industry. they drive the train to net the rewards should the investment pan out. thats good old capitalism without limits.

“It only makes economic sense when you can FORCE it into the system by using your power to mandate it, this is not a free market decision. ”

Of course it isn’t, since Ga. Power is not a “free market” business. It’s a heavily-regulated public utility. I think most of us prefer that a state agency regulate rates, coverage area, etc. for electric monopolies.

Suppose Ohio Power wanted to abandon rural Morgan County, yank out infrastructure, and sell its stations, transformers, poles, and lines to Columbus Southern for use in Franklin County. Ohio Power might try to justify its action by arguing, “It’s a free market decision. We can earn more money in urban Columbus.” Wouldn’t we expect our own Republican regulatory body, the PUCO, to stop Ohio Power?

It’s not set up as a free market, so the “not a free market decision” argument won’t fly.
