Scary Story – 1st Place: “The Deadliest Woods,” Kyden Robinson, Matamoras Elementary

A man was stranded in the woods, it was dark and spooky. Then something that he could not see was touching him and wouldn’t stop. He went to walk away and saw something wierd with red eyes, it was a werewolf. It started chasing him and he stopped because the werewolf was not chasing him. He reached for his backpack to get his water but something unexpected happened. Something bit him and infected his hand. He had to find something to stab himself with because he was a doctor.

LATER he continued through the woods but then he saw something unexpected. There was a thousund zombies! So he had to do the unexpected and shoot the zombies so he could get away. Then he started walking through the woods but he kept hearing weird noises. He went to check it out and he saw a weird creature. It was so weird that he did not know what it was. He stepped away from it but then it appeared behind him. He kept running in all kinds of different directions but it did not work so he ran straight forward. Then he saw a troll in a tree and it followed him wherever he went. That was fine as long as it did not hurt him. As he walked through the woods he did not see anything. He thought he was fine to sit and take a break. He started crying because he was all alone and scared. He shouted for help because he did not know where he was but no one answered. He would not move, he just took a deep breath, relaxed and waited a few minutes. As he did he looked up in the sky and saw that it was turning into morning. He started walking through the woods but it turned night again. He kept walking straight then he saw lights and a highway. He thought it was a car on the highway and he got it right! When the car stopped and asked if he needed a ride he said yes please and thank you and then he was fine. THE END

2nd Place: “Lonely Ghost,” Christopher Casseday, Salem-Liberty Elementary

Once upon a time, there was a ghost, but he was the only ghost and he was lonely. So he got a baseball bat and pointed it up to the moon and said ulet there be light!” Ghosts came out of their tomb. Zombies came out of their graves. Witches came out of their woods, and all of the pumpkins became alive. All the undead went to attack the city. So the people could come from The Undead, too. When they got to the city they attacked. The pumpkins ate people and cut down buildings. The Zombies bit people. The witches were on air patrol. Once everybody in the city was The Undead, all of the souls will get eaten by the ghost with the baseball bat, and he will become the Mega Ghost. He turned everyone in the world into The Undead. His plan was going great. His army was large, and it was growing by the second and a few seconds later his plan was complete. Now he isn’t lonely anymore.

He went to check in the closet, but nothing was there. Suddenly he felt a sharp pain in his back. It felt like he had been stung by a hornets’ nest! When he looked he saw it again! Then a mop fell.
