Pleasants County man admits to sex offender registry charge

CLARKSBURG — A Pleasants County man faces up to 10 years in prison after admitting to failing to update his sex offender registration.

Christopher Michael Wickey, 46, of St. Marys, pleaded guilty to a charge of failure to update sex offender registration. According to court documents, he was living and working in Pleasants County without updating his registration. He is required to register as a sex offender for life because of two prior child molestation convictions in Indiana, according to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of West Virginia

A sentencing date was not included in the release..

Assistant U.S. Attorney Christie Utt is prosecuting the case, which was investigated by the U.S. Marshals Service. U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael John Aloi presided.
