Andrew Curtis Newell

Andrew Curtis Newell, 41, beloved son of Dale and Marcia Newell, passed away Friday, November 8, 2024, at his home in Columbus, Ohio.

Andy was born December 29, 1982. He grew up in Amesville, Ohio, and graduated from Federal Hocking High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Heidelberg College in 2006 and worked as a software product manager.

Andy loved to travel with his friends to places around the world. The friends he made in college remained close through the years, and they were very supportive to the family after Andy’s passing.

Andy is survived by his parents, Dale and Marcia Newell, his sister Emily (Jay) McCloy, two nieces, Faith and Bella McCloy, and his many friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ray and Ruby Newell and his maternal grandparents, Donald and Betty Welch.

Andy was a gentle soul, kind, thoughtful, and hard-working. He possessed all the fine qualities that proud parents could imagine. He will be missed so much by his family and friends.

Online tributes can be made to The Ohio Crematorium and Memorial Society of Columbus. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
