Roundup: Tigers wrap regular season with win

Marietta wrapped regular season play with a 65-55 win over visiting International Sports Academy Thursday at Sutton Gym.

The Tigers improved to 16-4 and will play host to Athens at 7 p.m. Tuesday in a tournament opener.

Brayden Jones led Marietta with 17 points and five assists. Owen Riley, who was 4 for 5 from the 3-point line, added 15 points. Trey Hawkins chipped in 12 points and four dimes while Zaiden Wittekind finished with nine points and seven rebounds.

Lucas Miller grabbed a team-high nine boards off the bench and netted seven points for Marietta, which led 14-13 after one, 32-25 at halftime and 46-41 after three.

ISA rallied to take the lead in the fourth, but Marietta kept its composure and battled back to secure the victory.

Ravenswood 58, Parkersburg Catholic 42

RAVENSWOOD — Parkersburg Catholic only trailed by five points here Thursday entering the fourth quarter against eighth-ranked, Class AA Ravenswood, but the host Red Devils limited

the Crusaders to two points in the final eight minutes to secure a 58-42 Little Kanawha Conference victory.

The 13-4 Red Devils, winners of seven of their last eight with a road trip set for Monday at St. Marys, received a game-high 18 points from Noah Dawson, who added eight rebounds, five assists, and three steals.

Ravenswood, which got nine points, 10 boards and five dimes from Evan Swain, got a combined seven 3s from Colin Layton and Kelan Lucas, who tallied 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Parkersburg Catholic, which slipped to 5-14 and plays Tuesday at Ritchie County, received double figure scoring efforts from Preston Randolph (15) and Leonardo DeAngelo (14).

Red Devil Jacob Francis chipped in eight points and grabbed eight caroms.
